Depression

In the present terms, people are connected by a web and connect with each other through them. When this world has given more to feel great about. You must realize that it has taken away a lot. It has taken away human interactions (eye-to-eye) and make us believe that everything is a click away. Human interactions teach you courage. Today even anger, love, and other forms of emotions are conveyed through status and lasts in our mind for not more than 24 hours. In this virtual world, you no more need not know someone personally to know their likes and dislikes. You have started interpreting lives based on social media’s presence. You are no more truth seeker, you believe what you see or hear. I know you better is a technological statement. The world has transformed. What has not transformed is a human mind.

A human mind is brought into this world with survival instincts. Every human mind’s journey begins looking for appreciation (likes) and rewards (subscribers). Over a period, the mind evolves to get accustomed to the reality. Still, more rooted, the mind always looks to be successful and be recognized. This makes who you are within and who you are with others as two different personalities. This creates an imbalance. Take celebrities, for instance, what we see are their fame and wealth. Their life is interpreted by their social media presence or what is publicly showcased. Social media or their public presence will never let us know who they really are.

What matters in life is how you react when something that you own is no more yours. The human mind is secluded from you in such times. The human mind needs to be trained to accept failure, else it may lead you to take extreme decisions. In such a scenario, you must remember that you are not ALONE.

Admire:

The best thing to keep you high is to admire yourself. Make it a habit daily to look at a mirror and admire you. Say good things about you and also state what could make you even better. Self-esteem is the most valuable asset you could possess. Every sunrise is an opportunity to change what might have gone wrong earlier. Seize the moment and assure yourself that you are going to turn it around.

Leisure:

Happiness is derived when you do things at leisure. The people or activities that do not let you be happy need not be part of your life. Not the other way around. If the situation warrants you to engage in something that may not yield you happiness, and if you do not have a choice, find activities or moments that will let you be at leisure.

Optimism:

Life is a mind game. Believing in oneself is the pre-requisite to play the game of life. Your action and reaction are driven by your mind. Being an optimist and reflecting positive thoughts will help you in controlling your mind. Set clear, achievable goals on which you can be an optimist and blindly believe in them. Nature:

Nature is a healer and absorbs negativity. Take a walk, explore places, or admire things around you. Even if you are within four walls, open the windows and feel the breeze. Feel the essence of life through nature. Nature provides you an opportunity to reflect upon and relax.

Emotion:

Emotional Intelligence is as relevant as Intelligence Quotient. Emotional Intelligence is about identifying, using, understanding, and regulating emotions. It is essential to understand oneself and emotions. Know your strength and weakness. Learn to articulate your emotions appropriately. It is more important for introverts to develop emotional intelligence.

In a world of web and where everything is virtual, remember you are not ALONE.

Note: In case if you still need support, speak out to your closed ones or seek guidance in person and not to Dr. Google or Dr. Wikipedia.
